Tina Ju is a managing partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers China. She joined the firm when KPCB China was formed in 2007, bringing more than 20 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking and operations. Tina’s focus areas of investment include telecom, media and high-tech (TMT), consumer services and greentech. She serves as a director on the boards of a number of companies, including Asia Forestry, CreditEase, Oriental Wisdom, DHgate, Velo and Yicha. Since 2000, Tina has been involved in more than 30 investments, including Alibaba (HKG: 1688), Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), Cgen, sold to Focus Media, Focus Media (Nasdaq: FMCN), and Hurray (NASDAQ: HRAY).

Tina began her venture capital career in 1999 when she joined VTDF. She co-founded VTDF China I in 2000 and founded TDF Capital II in 2005. Earlier in her career, Tina also spent 11 years in investment banking at Deutsche Bank (head of TMT and Transport Asia), Merrill Lynch (head of Asia Technology and Corporate Finance Execution Team), JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.

Tina was honored by Zero2IPO as one of the Top Ten Active Venture Capitalists of the Year in 2005 and has been included on the Forbes China list of China’s Best Venture Capitalists every year from 2006 through 2010. Tina is the founding chairperson of Women In Leadership (WIL), the premier organization for women entrepreneurs and venture capital investors in China. She is also the governor of the Shanghai Venture Capital Association (SVCA) and the China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA). Tina holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in industrial engineering and operations research from the University of California, Berkeley.
