Alex Zhou is an associate at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers China who joined the firm in 2011.
Before beginning his investment career, Alex was with Hewlett-Packard (HP), where he gained deep exposure across IT consulting, sales and marketing and strategic development. He oversaw the company’s data storage business unit, delivering US$160 million in revenue annually in China. Alex also served on the board of the China Storage Network Industry Association from 2006 to 2009, and was an editorial member of the book Road to a Data Storage Expert. In 2009, he worked as an investment manager at Legend Holdings, investing in the information technology sector and the clean tech sector. He also co-founded an information management software startup in 2005.
Alex holds an M.B.A. degree in finance and entrepreneurship from Columbia University and a bachelor of engineering degree in computer science from Harbin Institute of Technology.
